Porsche 911 (901 Nr. 57)

The Porsche Museum’s oldest 911 was originally produced as Porsche 901 but delivered as 911. The signal red car bears chassis number 57. In August 2014, a production team of Germany’s TV station RTL II finds the rusty remains of the sports car classic for their programme “The Junk Troop” in a shed. Experts from the Porsche Museum check the car and declare it to be genuine. Since then it is part of the collection of the Porsche Museum. It takes three years to bring body, engine, transmission and interior back to its original state.
