Bright and desirable: Signalyellow is a bright shade that is considered a classic, Porsche specific colour. As the name suggests, Signalyellow is used as a colour for traffic signal symbols or signs. In motorsport, the yellow flag indicates dangerous areas and indicates that drivers should slow down or prepare for a possible stop. Signalyellow has been available under six different colour codes for the 911 and 912 from the mid-1960s to the early 1970s. In 2009, the colour returned thanks to Japanese racing legend Tetsu Ikuzawa: he had his Signalyellow 911 Targa from 1969 restored and also ordered a then-new 911 Targa 4S (997) in Signalyellow. Signalyellow is an attention-grabbing colour with a noticeable red component. The colour symbolises happiness, optimism and creativity while evoking feelings of warmth, energy and excitement.
