Unconventional: Ultraviolet is a non-metallic, medium violet and could be perceived as a modern interpretation of the colour Lilac from the 1970s. The term 'Violet' is derived from the French word 'viola' for the flower of the same name. And of course 'ultra' means to go beyond. Ultraviolet has a strong character that embodies a sense of daring, freedom and originality. The colour creates a unique and striking visual effect that can evoke strong emotions. Ultraviolet attracts attention but also stimulates the imagination. For the market launch of the 911 GT3 RS in 2015, Ultraviolet was chosen as the communication colour.
