The favourite colour: Irishgreen is a rich shade of green that is a Porsche family colour. In 1963, the first series-produced Porsche of the 901 type was painted in Irishgreen – for the subsequent owner Ferdinand 'Ferry' Porsche. In 1964, the colour became available for the 356 C with the colour code 6406. The iconic green shade is valued for its historical significance and rarity, and continues to shape the colour landscape of sports car manufacturers to this day. Irishgreen is a medium and non-metallic shade associated with the deep green vegetation of Ireland. The natural green tone has subtle yellow undertones, giving it a warm and earthy look. Irishgreen is a distinctive and memorable colour option. In 2017, the one millionth Porsche 911 rolled off the production line at the Zuffenhausen plant – it was a Carrera S (991) in Irishgreen, a unique model with a number of exclusive special features. "That was my father’s favourite colour. And it's mine too," says Porsche’s grandson Wolfgang.
