Porsche is continuining to follow its three-pronged powertrain strategy for the future, consisting of fully electric powertrains, powerful plug-in hybrids and thrilling combustion engines. This diversity is demonstrated clearly at the LA Auto Show. Porsche is celebrating a total of five world premieres in California: In addition to the 718 Cayman GT4 RS, which represents the highlight premiere of the show, the 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport, Taycan GTS and Taycan GTS Sport Turismo as well as the Panamera Platinum Edition will be shown for the first time.
„California has been a second home for Porsche for decades. In 2018, we revealed the current generation of 911 in Los Angeles. Now, we are presenting the high-performance version of our mid-engine coupe here– the 718 Cayman GT4 RS“, said Oliver Blume, Chairman of the Executive Board at Porsche AG. „Our electric sports sedan, the Taycan, has also become a fixture on California roads. With the new Taycan GTS models we are expanding the model portfolio even further. Overall, our fresh and innovative product portfolio is clearly attracting our customers: From January through September 2021, we have been able to increase deliveries in the U.S, our second largest single market, by 30 percent.“
Maximum driving excitement: 718 Cayman GT4 RS and 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport
The 2022 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS represents the new top model of the 718 model range – a driver’s car without compromise encompassing lightweight construction, particularly agile handling, extensive aerodynamic enhancements and a soundtrack that is one of a kind. On the Nürburgring-Nordschleife, it completed the 12.8 mile configuration in 7:04,511 minutes, making it over 23 seconds faster than its little brother, the 718 Cayman GT4.
The heart of the sports car focused on pure driving engagement is the naturally aspirated six-cylinder boxer engine making 493 hp and 331 lb.-ft. of torque. The dual-clutch transmission (PDK) in the RS features shorter gearing than on the 718 Cayman GT4 with PDK and enables rapid acceleration. The 718 Cayman GT4 RS accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds and on to a top track speed of 195 mph.
The 2022 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS can be ordered immediately at an MSRP of $141,700, not including a $1,350 delivery, processing and handling fee and is expected to reach U.S. dealers in summer 2022. At the same time, the 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport is celebrating its world premiere in Los Angeles. In 2022, this model built for customer racing will compete in a number of national and international racing series around the world.
First all-electric GTS: 2022 Taycan GTS and Taycan GTS Sport Turismo
The Taycan GTS represents the first fully electric GTS variant in Porsche history. The new variant is the performance-focused all-rounder in the model range. It makes up to 590 hp in Overboost when using Launch Control. The suspension and optional rear-axle steering are both tuned specially for the GTS, while model-specific exterior and interior features give the car a distinctly sporty appearance typical for GTS models.
At the same time the Taycan GTS Sport Turismo is debuting at the LA Auto Show, representing the third body style of the first fully electric Porsche model. It shares the sporty silhouette and sloping roofline with the Taycan Cross Turismo, as well as the versatile luggage compartment that offers over 42 cubic feet of trunk space, while offering a road-tuned suspension and ride height matching that of the Taycan sedan.
Both Taycan GTS model variants are expected to reach U.S. dealers in Spring 2022. The 2022 Taycan GTS starts at an MSRP of $131,400, while the 2022 Taycan GTS Sport Turismo will be offered starting at $133,300, both not including a $1,350 delivery, processing and handling fee.

The Panamera Platinum Edition combines a sporty and elegant design and increased standard equipment for an attractive price.
Air vents, Porsche logotype and model designation as well as the standard 21-inch Exclusive Design wheels in Satin Platinum are characteristic features of the Platinum Edition models. The exclusivity of the interior is underscored by 14-way electrically adjustable comfort seats, trim pieces made of black brushed aluminum and door sill guards featuring a „Platinum Edition“ designation. The extensive list of standard equipment also includes LED-Matrix-Design headlights with PDLS Plus, adaptive air suspension including PASM, BOSE® Surround Sound-System, ambient lighting, 4-zone climate control, heated front and rear seats, ventilated front seats and more.
The Platinum Edition is available in Panamera, Panamera 4 und Panamera 4 E-Hybrid sedan versions and is available to order immediately. Important U.S. market showing strong growth:
After China, the United States represents the second largest global market for Porsche and is currently showing strong sales growth: In the first three quarters of2021, Porsche delivered 51,615 vehicles to U.S. customers, which represents a 30 percent increase compared to the same time frame last year. This strong position in North America is underscored by the results of the latest J.D. Power APEAL study, where Porsche once again placed first according to its customers.
Demand for Porsche vehicles is particularly strong in California: If the Golden State were a country, it would represent the fourth largest market in the world. The first fully electric Porsche has also gained significant popularity in California. Around eight percent of all Taycan deliveries (28,640 units globally from January through September 2021) were completed there. Within the U.S., around 30 percent of all Taycan models are delivered to California customers.
